Yoga has been a part of Julie’s life since she was little, becoming her foundation and guiding concept of living. Rooted in Kerala, India and raised in Germany, Julie embodies the meeting of East and West. Her Indian heritage offered her the timeless wisdom of yoga and Ayurveda, while her life in Europe and the US opened her to diverse perspectives. She travelled the world and lived in several countries before moving to Southern California, where she is now based.
Following a career at Condé Nast in London where she launched brands such as Vogue, GQ and Glamour worldwide, she desired a new challenge and devoted herself to her deeper calling to make ancient Indian wisdom accessible to everyone and relevant to modern life, in a way that brings clarity, resilience and meaning to our everyday experiences. As a devoted yoga scholar, Julie trained with a vast variety of teachers in London, New York and South India where she completed her yoga and Ayurveda teacher trainings.
Today, Julie shares yoga as a holistic experience weaving mindful movement, breathwork and meditation as taught in the traditional Indian yoga culture. Her classes are designed to meet students of all levels and ages, while each class is designed to nurture the free flow of energy throughout the body, restore vitality, and deepen spiritual awareness. This naturally contributes to increased fitness and health, finding inner peace through strength and ultimately enjoying this life experience.
Julie has taught yoga to everyone from corporate, athletes to mums, beginners to advanced and various age groups from 2 years to 90 years. Julie has also trained as a dance teacher, athlete and Ayurveda practitioner which influence her style of teaching.
